My Story

Hi… my name is Poppy

I’m a tiny 4-month-old brown and white puppy with long, floppy ears. When I run, my ears bounce, and sometimes I trip over them… but I don’t mind. I love mornings the most, when the air is cool and everything feels new.

One morning, I came out of my kennel, wagging my tail, ready to play.

But then… I stopped.

Near the garden, I saw a flower.
It wasn’t like the others.

It was drooping… quiet… and looked very, very tired.

I slowly walked closer. My tail stopped wagging. I didn’t understand why, but my heart felt a little heavy.

“Are you okay?” I whispered softly.

The flower didn’t answer.

I sniffed the soil. It was dry… so dry.

I sat there for a moment, looking at the flower. I didn’t like seeing it this way. It made me feel… sad.

And I didn’t want the flower to feel alone.

So I ran as fast as I could, my little paws going tap-tap-tap. I found some water and carefully brought it back. It was hard… I spilled a little… but I tried my best.

Gently, I poured the water into the soil.

Then I sat beside the flower.

“I’m here,” I said quietly.

I waited.

And waited.

For a moment, nothing happened… and my eyes started to feel watery.

But then…

The flower moved.

Slowly… very slowly… it lifted its head.

Its petals opened, soft and bright, reaching for the sun.

It looked alive again.

My tail wagged… slowly at first… then faster and faster!

And then I heard the softest voice,
“Thank you, Poppy… you didn’t leave me.”

My heart felt full. So full, I didn’t even know how to explain it.

That day, I learned something important:

Sometimes, all someone needs… is a little care, a little water… and someone who doesn’t walk away.

After that, I visited the garden every day. I checked on the plants, gave them water, and sat with them so they never felt alone.

One day, some children came.

“Poppy, what are you doing?” they asked.

I wagged my tail and showed them my little garden.

They sat with me.
They touched the soil.
They planted tiny seeds with their own hands.

At first, they didn’t believe anything would grow.

But I knew.

We waited together… just like I did with the flower.

And one day, tiny green sprouts appeared.

The children’s eyes lit up with wonder.

“We did this?” they asked.

I barked happily, yes, you did!

And that’s how “lilmatters” began.

Now, every day, children come to the garden. They laugh, they learn, they get their hands messy… and their hearts full.

They grow their own food.
They take care of tiny plants.
And they feel proud, just like I did.

I’m still just a small puppy with floppy ears…

But I know now,

Even the smallest act of love
can help something beautiful grow.
